Online information session on the public consultation of the second set of permits
On 16 January 2025, from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm, an online information session will take place. This session will focus on the Aramis initiative and the permits that will be open for public consultation from 20 December 2024 to 30 January 2025.
The Aramis initiative is developing infrastructure to store CO2 in depleted gas fields beneath the North Sea, thereby preventing its release into the atmosphere. This involves constructing a terminal for liquid CO2 and expanding a compressor station on the Maasvlakte. Offshore, the project will include a subsea pipeline connecting to a distribution platform and three injection platforms.
The Aramis initiative requires multiple permits, which are being released for public consultation in phases. During the consultation period, anyone can submit their views, and these will be considered in the decision-making process. The first set of draft permits was open for consultation in September and October 2024. The second set of draft permits will be available for public consultation from 20 December 2024 to 30 January 2025. The documents are available at www.rvo.nl/aramis.
This second set will include the draft permits for:
- The offshore distribution platform
- Three connecting pipelines to the injection platforms of TotalEnergies, Shell and Eni
- The expansion of the Porthos compressor station to support the Aramis initiative
- Flora and fauna species protection measures
We look forward to welcoming you!
The Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth and the Aramis initiative will jointly provide further information on the draft permits during the session. You are kindly invited to attend, and there will be ample opportunity to ask questions.
